London's canal-side dining destination
Modern British cooking. Paddington Basin, London.
There are restaurants near Paddington Station and then there's Smith's.
Set on the banks of the Grand Union Canal in Paddington Basin, Smith's Bar & Grill is where considered dining meets one of central London's most distinctive settings. Floor-to-ceiling windows, a marble bar and a canal-side terrace made for warm evenings on the water — the kind of place that makes any occasion feel worth marking.
Head Chef David Reyes leads a kitchen grounded in quality British produce and precise technique. The kitchen takes modern British cooking seriously — meaning the menu shifts with the seasons, the sourcing is considered, and the dishes are the sort you find yourself thinking about on the way home.
The menu centres on what this country does best — Scottish beef dry-aged for 28 days, the finest seasonal seafood and starters that reward those who take their time ordering. Every dish is matched by a wine list curated by Head Sommelier Maurizio Titone, whose decades of experience are felt in every selection, from the by-the-glass list to some of the finest Burgundy and Barolo available in the city.
Smith's private dining room seats up to 60 guests, with exclusive venue hire for up to 200 — one of the most versatile private dining spaces in central London, whether for a corporate dinner, a celebration, or a private event with full kitchen and sommelier service.
