Sunday Roast in Paddington, London | Smith’s Bar & Grill

A proper Sunday roast is one of those meals that gets better when you stop rushing it. A long table, good company, a glass of something cold and a plate stacked with all the trimmings. That’s the idea behind Sundays at Smith’s Bar & Grill — a canal-side restaurant in Paddington where you can sit by the Grand Union Canal and take your time over lunch.

We serve Sunday roast every week from 12pm to 9pm, and there are three ways to eat it: an individual plate, a sharing roast for two, or a bottomless feast. Here’s what each one looks like.

The Individual Sunday Roast — From £18

If you’re after a classic Sunday roast in Paddington without the fanfare, this is it. Pick your protein and it arrives with all the proper sides: duck fat roasted potatoes, honey roasted carrots, tenderstem broccoli, parsnips, a homemade Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The menu changes with the seasons, but the current lineup includes:

•       Free-range half chicken marinated with lemon, thyme and garlic — £21
•       Roasted pork belly — £18
•       35-day matured British grass-fed picanha — £23
•       10-day matured lamb shank — £25
•       Chestnut and field mushroom parcels (V) in filo pastry with truffle gravy — £15
•       28-day matured chateaubriand — £45

Every roast is prepared by Head Chef David Reyes and his team using British-sourced, free-range and grass-fed meat. If you want something lighter to start, the starters menu is also available on Sundays — the full menu is here.

The Sharing Roast for Two

The sharing option is the one for date nights, catch-ups, or any Sunday where you want a bit more theatre at the table. The same cuts listed above are available in larger portions built for two — a whole chicken, a full lamb shank, a sharing picanha — carved and served with all the trimmings between you.

Prices for the sharing roast start from £34 for two (pork belly) up to £86 for the chateaubriand.

It’s a generous spread and the kind of thing that turns a regular Sunday lunch in Paddington into something you actually remember.

The Bottomless Sunday Roast

This is the big one. For £42 per person, you get 90 minutes of unlimited food: small plates to start, followed by roasts, followed by desserts.
You order two small plates at a time, then one roast and one dessert — and you keep going until you’re done.

Add bottomless drinks for £18pp and your table gets 90 minutes of free-flowing red, white or sparkling wine, plus Bloody Marys. It’s available every Sunday, 12pm–9pm, and the full table has to be on the same package.

The bottomless roast is one of the most popular things we do. If you’re searching for a bottomless roast in London that’s actually worth it — proper food, proper setting, not a rushed 60-minute conveyor belt — this is it.

    • The whole table must dine from the Bottomless Roast Menu only.

    • Table is time-limited to 1.5 hours per booking.

    • Available every Sunday between 12pm - 9pm only, with bookings essential.

    • Guests can order two small plates at a time, followed by one roast and one dessert at a time. Each course must be ordered separately.

    • Your drink will be replaced once it has been finished.

    • Price is per person and drinks cannot be shared.

    • Drinks cannot be substituted with any other drink.

    • Last orders are 15 minutes before the end of your sitting.

    • Food allergen information is available upon request.

    • 12.5% service charge will be added to your final bill.

    • The bottomless offer is available for the entire table only. All guests must choose the same package: either “Bottomless Food & Drinks” or “Bottomless Food Only.” Bottomless alcohol can be substituted for bottomless soft drinks at the same price.

Canal-Side Sundays in Paddington

After your roast, the bar stays open for cocktails and the marble bar is a good spot to settle in for the rest of the afternoon. If you’re coming with a larger group or celebrating, we also run private dining on Sundays.
