Breakfast in Paddington

Open at 8am on weekdays and 9am at weekends, a short walk from Paddington Station.

Breakfast at Smith's is a proper sit-down affair rather than something eaten standing up on a concourse. The room looks out over the Grand Union Canal, the coffee is good, and nobody hurries you unless you ask to be hurried.

The Full English

Smoked streaky bacon, sausage, flat mushroom, tomato, beans, hash browns, toast and Clarence Court eggs. There is a vegan English too, with vegan bacon, vegan sausage and tofu scramble, that stands up entirely on its own.

The Rest of the Menu

Eggs Benedict, Royale with in-house smoked salmon, and Florentine on English muffins with hollandaise made properly. Mushroom and truffle Benedict. Crab pancakes with amarillo hollandaise. Avocado toast on sourdough. Granola with Greek yoghurt and blackberry compote, or chia pudding, for something lighter. See the full breakfast menu.

Breakfast Meetings

A good share of our weekday tables are people from the Paddington Central and Merchant Square offices, or two people meeting off a train. Tables are spaced for talking and service moves at whatever pace you need. For something more private, we can put you in a private room.

Before a Train or a Flight

Paddington Station is a short walk away, covering the Elizabeth line, the Heathrow Express and Great Western services. Opening at 8am means you can eat a full English and still make a mid-morning departure. Full directions.

At the Weekend

Breakfast runs from 9am until 11am on Saturdays and Sundays. After that, Saturday belongs to bottomless brunch and Sunday to the bottomless roast from 12pm.
