Smith's Bar & Grill is open on Christmas Day, Friday 25 December 2026, with a three-course Christmas Day Menu at £99 per person, including a glass of Champagne. Children have their own menu at £30. Choose roast turkey with all the trimmings, a 28-day matured chateaubriand or a lamb shank, in the dining room above the Grand Union Canal at Paddington Central.

The Christmas Day Menu, £99 per Person

Three courses and a glass of Champagne.

Starters

  • Smoked salmon: smoked in-house, with caperberries, cream cheese, dill and shallots
  • Beef carpaccio: thinly sliced raw beef, Dijon mustard mayonnaise
  • Parmigiana (V): fried aubergine baked in a rich tomato sauce with mozzarella and parmesan
  • Calamari: tartare sauce, lemon wedge
  • Burrata (V): in tomato sauce with capers, pesto, semi-dried tomatoes, olive crumble and basil

Mains

  • Roasted turkey: chipolatas wrapped in bacon, sausage stuffing, roast potatoes, roast carrots, Brussels sprouts, red wine and cranberry sauce
  • Salmon: char-grilled, with garlic, cherry tomatoes, olives, courgettes, basil and olive oil
  • Ravioli (V): ricotta and spinach in a butter and parmesan sauce
  • 28-day matured chateaubriand
  • 10-day matured lamb shank

The chateaubriand and lamb shank come as roasts, with honey-roasted carrots, duck fat roast potatoes, tenderstem broccoli, parsnips, homemade Yorkshire pudding and gravy.

Desserts

  • Rum baba: spiced rum syrup, citrus zest and vanilla
  • Chocolate fondant: with vanilla ice cream
  • Lemon délice: filled with lemon custard and finished with citrus icing
  • Churros: hazelnut chocolate sauce and orange zest

Getting Here on Christmas Day

We are at 25 Sheldon Square, Paddington Central, W2 6EY, beside the Grand Union Canal. Trains and the Tube do not run on Christmas Day, so plan to come by car or taxi. There is no parking on site; the nearest public car parks are around Paddington Basin and Bishop's Bridge Road. The restaurant has step-free access.

Christmas Eve at Smith's

We are open on Christmas Eve, Thursday 24 December, for lunch and dinner. It is the last day of our Christmas Menu at £75 per person for three courses. Breakfast is not served from 24 December until 3 January.

Boxing Day and Twixmas

We are open on Boxing Day. Between Christmas and New Year, from 26 to 30 December, there is bottomless brunch, an evening set menu at two courses for £26 or three for £29, and extended happy hour. On New Year's Eve we host a five-course dinner and party until 3am.
